Thank you for your interest in joining our school community and starting your family's journey with us. Whether you currently live in the Tirana or plan to relocate to our city, the BST Admissions team is here to help you make the right choice for your child and family.

We encourage prospective families to visit BST to witness our teachers and students in action and experience the intangibles of life in our school - the positive atmosphere, nurturing environment and inspiring cultural diversity.

Families may arrange a school visit as it suits their schedules. However, if you are unable to visit in person, please take a Virtual Tour of the school and nursery school sites and we would be happy to answer your questions via email, phone or Skype.

Choosing the right day care and school for your child can be the most valuable decision you make as a parent. We are here to guide you and answer all the questions that you have.

The first stage is to contact the school and arrange to come and experience the friendly atmosphere and see us either during one of our Open Mornings, or by making an appointment at any time during the academic year.

We recommend you visit us with your child, meet our Headteacher, pupils and staff and enjoy a guided tour of our beautiful school and Nursery School site. You will see our outstanding on-site facilities, spacious well-equipped classrooms and experience the warm relationships that exist between our staff, pupils and parents.

The usual point of entry is our Nursery, where girls and boys can registered for entry any time subject to availability of places in our small-size groups. A registration form needs to be completed and a hard copy sent to the school, along with the registration fee. The School has an inclusive policy and all children are accepted at registration.

Nursery tuition fees and other costs

British Nursery School of Tirana is a fee paying, non-selective pre-school. The fees are annual. For the most current information on fees please email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

    Early Years Fees Include:

  • Teaching, reporting and internal or external assessment for Infant, Toddlers,
  • Nursery and Reception groups
  • Meals including breakfast, morning snack, lunch and afternoon tea.
  • Nursery School materials, stationary and books
  • Children’s toiletries, towels, bed linen from the Infant group upwards.
  • Transport on school organised excursions


Personal use items such as diapers (nappies) are not covered by the fee. Other one-to-one support, out of hours care etc are also charged additionally. Transport to and from school is offered for an extra monthly fee

The school operated a policy of discounts in the case of siblings attending the school.

Primary and secondary school admission and enrollment

At the British School of Tirana pupils may be registered for entry in Primary school (Year 1 to 6) and Secondary school (Year 7 to 11) by completing an Expression of Interest Form as early as possible in the term preceding the year of school start (January to March). Pupils may start Primary School with us by registering for entry any time after their 5th birthday. The Primary School has an inclusive policy and all children are accepted at registration. Pupils that are transferring their Secondary school studies from other schools (age 11- 15) will be invited to sit an entry exam to ensure that they possess the necessary skills and competences in English Language, Math and Science to successfully access the secondary level of the National Curriculum of England and Wales. Entry assessment is organized in April-May and then again in June-July for a September entry to school.

Once a place is offered, the final Registration Form is submitted in hard copy to the school, along with the registration fee.     Primary and Secondary School Fees Include:

  • Tuition – This includes all the teaching, reporting and internal assessment for KS1, KS2, KS3 and KS4
  • Some extra-curricular activities (Clubs after 15:30 are offer for an additional fee)
  • Meals – A hot lunch and a morning snack are included in the fees for all pupils.
  • Transport between sites, to sporting facilities
  • School organised test and assessments
  • Textbooks and reading books for year 1-6
  • Printing cost (annual charge) for primary pupils is not included in the annual fee.

Textbooks are not included for pupils from Year 7 to Year 11.

External examinations are not included in the fee.

International travel and excursions are not included.

Transportation to and from school can be offered for an extra fee.

Full school uniform (Summer, Winter, Ceremony and Sport) cost is not included in the annual fee.

Upon receiving our offer of a place the registration fee (only once when joining the school) and school 1 st installment is payable to secure the place for your child.
