Founded
British School of Tirana (BST) was founded in 2016 as an Early Years setting, with the idea of bringing in Albania the best standards of British Education. Very soon, British School of Tirana has grown into a well-established British educational institution offering Early Years, Primary, Secondary and A-Level education. We are proud to be the first and only fully accredited British-style school in Albania, regularly inspected by official British education authorities.
A Truly International School
BST is a truly international school; welcoming nearly 500 students aged 1 to 18 from over 15 countries. Our diverse community of students and staff creates a rich and inclusive learning environment, where different cultures, languages, and perspectives are valued and celebrated.
Curriculum
The school follows exclusively the National Curriculum of England and Wales, licensed by the Albanian Council of Ministers, and prepares students for internationally recognised qualifications including IGCSE, and A Levels. These qualifications are delivered in partnership with leading international examination boards such as Pearson Edexcel.
At BST, we believe that children should be ambitious and reach for their dreams, and we actively strive to ignite their curiosities, encourage them to be relentlessly optimistic and to develop a love of learning. Success is not only measured by academic achievement but how your child grows in other important ways, such as through life skills and other talents in the arts, sports and through leadership activities
Our Staff
Our academic programme is delivered by a dedicated team of 60 qualified teachers, supported by 30 administrative staff.
Our Ongoing Commitment
At the British School of Tirana, we remain committed to providing families in Tirana and across Albania with the very best of British education. Progressing toward full COBIS Accreditation reinforces our mission to deliver outstanding teaching, care and opportunities within a safe, inclusive and dynamic learning environment. We thank our school community for their continued trust and support as we move confidently forward
Class Size
Small class sizes, with an average of 18 students, and a maximum of 22 students, allow for personalised learning and meaningful teacher-student engagement.
