At the British School of Tirana, we place great importance on providing a healthy, nutritious, and balanced diet for all our pupils. Good nutrition supports children’s concentration, mood, and academic performance, while helping them develop positive eating habits that last a lifetime.

Lunch is a relaxed and enjoyable part of the school day. Pupils are given plenty of time to choose and eat their meals, with staff on hand to provide support where needed. At the same time, children are encouraged to develop good table manners, independence, and the correct use of cutlery.
Almost all food served at BST is cooked from scratch on site every day, using fresh, raw ingredients. Our meat is sourced from trusted local suppliers who meet food safety standards, and no processed food is served to our pupils.

Each day, students can choose from a variety of hot, freshly prepared meals, combining traditional favourites with internationally inspired dishes. Menus are thoughtfully planned and shared with parents monthly, with opportunities for feedback to ensure continuous improvement.

Daily Menu Options

Each day, pupils can choose from a range of options, including:

  • Meat and non-meat dishes
  • Pasta with a choice of sauces
  • Fresh vegetables served daily as a salad option
  • Whole and cut fresh fruit, served at snack time for Early Years and Primary, and again with dessert
  • Yogurt offered regularly alongside fruit

All food items can be mixed and matched, and we always encourage children to try a little of something new every day.
