The British School of Tirana is proud to share an important milestone in its continued growth and development. After several years as a COBIS Compliance Member, we are delighted to announce that BST has progressed to the next stage and is now working towards full COBIS Accreditation.
This achievement reflects our strong commitment to continuous improvement and brings us closer to full recognition under the COBIS Patron’s Accreditation and Compliance Program—one of the most respected quality assurance frameworks for British international schools worldwide.
What This Means for Our Community
As a long-standing Compliance Member, BST has already demonstrated that it meets rigorous international standards across all aspects of school life. Achieving full accreditation will further strengthen our position within a prestigious global network of over 290 British international schools in more than 80 countries.

COBIS Standards
The COBIS framework evaluates schools across key areas essential to a high-quality education, including student welfare and safeguarding, leadership and staffing, facilities and learning environments, complaints procedures, and the promotion of a strong British educational ethos throughout school life.

BST’s relationship with COBIS has been built through years of collaboration, reflection, and improvement. Supported by a designated COBIS Lead Improvement Partner and the dedication of our entire school community, we are now entering the final stages of the full accreditation process.
